SocialPal ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.
Information We Collect
Account data: Name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
OAuth tokens: When you connect YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, we store encrypted OAuth access and refresh tokens to fetch your analytics data on your behalf.
Analytics data: Metrics, engagement data, and content metadata retrieved from connected platforms. This data is cached temporarily (15-minute TTL) and stored as daily snapshots for trend analysis.
Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring.
How We Use Your Data
- Display your social media analytics in the SocialPal dashboard
- Generate AI-powered insights about your content performance
- Send alerts when your metrics change significantly
- Improve the platform and fix bugs
We never sell, share, or monetize your personal data or social media analytics.
Data Security
All OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (12 rounds). All API communication uses HTTPS. Database queries use parameterized statements to prevent SQL injection.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (connections, tokens, metrics, snapshots) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
We interact with YouTube Data API, Instagram Graph API, Facebook Graph API, and TikTok API solely to retrieve your analytics. We also use Anthropic's Claude AI to generate insights — only aggregated, anonymized metrics are sent for analysis.
Your Rights
You can disconnect any platform at any time from Settings. You can request a full data export or account deletion by contacting support@social-pal.com.
Terms of Service
By using SocialPal, you agree to these terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use SocialPal only for lawful purposes. You must not attempt to access other users' data, reverse-engineer the platform, or use automated bots to scrape data from our service.
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Service Availability
We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Third-party API outages (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) are outside our control.
Cancellation
You may cancel your account at any time. Upon cancellation, your data will be retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of SocialPal after changes constitutes acceptance.
